Hospital Emergency Rooms

These are the most capable urgent care facilities, and can cope with every emergency. However, visiting the ER of a hospital for a few hours usually results in a bill running into thousands of dollars. An overnight stay can run into tens of thousands of dollars. If you have medical insurance or holiday insurance that covers medical with a low deductible, then no problem. Go to your insurers web page or contact them, and ask for an an in-network facility in this area. There are ER's close-by at Celebration, Davenport, Clermont and Kissimmee.


Walk-In Clinics

If out-of-pocket medical expenses are a concern, consider one of the nearby walk in clinics. They can cope with most medical emergencies that don’t require surgery at a fraction of the cost of an ER visit. Typically, a visit will cost between $150-$250, which can be covered by insurance, if you have it. There’s no appointment needed, but you might want to check wait times before you go. There are several in the area, and a clinic that’s open 24 hours at Lake Buena Vista.


Minute Clinics

For minor medical issues, some CVS pharmacies have an attending nurse practitioner on site. There are no x-ray or testing facilities, but they are able to diagnose and treat a lot of common illnesses. You can walk in, or better still, set up an appointment online and receive a text when your appointment is due. A typical visit costs $100, which can be covered by your medical or holiday insurance, if you have it.
